David Killed a 9-Foot Giant With One Stone | And It's Not Even the Bible's Wildest Story
About This Video
This video counts down ten of the Bible's most dramatic recorded events: David killing the giant Goliath with one stone (1 Samuel 17), fire falling on Elijah's altar before 450 prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18), the parting of the Red Sea, three men surviving the furnace (Daniel 3), Jonah surviving three days inside a great fish, and Jesus calming the storm and rising from the grave.
Transcript (excerpt)
You think the Bible's boring? Think again. This book has fire raining from heaven, a teen with a rock taking down a 9- ft warrior, and a man who got swallowed by a sea monster and lived to tell the tale. Let me ask you, what if you were standing at the edge of the Red Sea and it suddenly split in two? Would you walk through it? What if you saw Jesus walk on water in the middle of a storm? Would you believe it?
What if your faith meant being thrown into a pit of hungry lions and you walked out untouched? This isn't fiction. This isn't fairy tale. This is history that's stranger than fiction and somehow still true. Let's rapid fire some stories. David versus Goliath. A teen with a sling, no armor, takes down a giant with one stone. Elijah versus 450 prophets. Soaked altar. One prayer. Boom. Fire from heaven. Moses parts the sea literally.
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego tossed into a blazing furnace and walk out not even smelling like smoke. Jesus calms a storm with three words. Peace, be still. Jonah, swallowed by a massive fish, survives 3 days inside. Paul, shipwrecked, bitten by a viper, shakes it off like it's nothing. Peter denies Jesus, then becomes one of the boldest leaders of the early church. Jesus crucified, buried, and then walks out of his own grave.
How's that boring? If these stories are real, what does that say about God? What does that say about you? Maybe the Bible isn't boring. Maybe we've just been reading it like it is. So, what's stopping you from diving in? Because the Bible isn't just a book. It's a weapon, a mirror, a rescue plan, and a love letter from the God who still moves mountains. The question is, will you read it differently?
