Is the Bible True? For two centuries, skeptics have smirked: “Nice fairy tales… but where’s the proof?” Archaeology keeps answering back. These aren’t Sunday school props. They’re receipts. Ten discoveries have flipped the script and left critics scrambling. Picture this. A strip of lead, no bigger than a guitar pick. Folded like a secret note. Tossed in an ancient dump. Twenty-eight centuries later, scientists scan it open.

First words: “Cursed by Yahweh.” That’s not folklore. That’s Deuteronomy 27, engraved in metal. And if one rebel’s curse survived, wait until you hear the other nine. In 2019, archaeologists re-sifted dirt from Joshua’s altar. A small lead amulet surfaced. Inside: forty microscopic letters. “You are cursed by Yahweh, the God of Israel.” Just as Joshua 8 describes, Israel built an altar on Mount Ebal and proclaimed the law.

Deuteronomy now has a 3-D cameo. Late-date theorists just lost another talking point. Jerusalem, 1968. A bone box. A heel bone. And a four-and-a-half-inch iron nail still pinning them together. Historians wince. Romans nailed, snapped legs, hurried death. Exactly as John 19 records. The Gospel horror scene now has its x-ray. Caesarea. A limestone block emerges: “Pontius Pilate, Prefect of Judea, has dedicated…” No longer a ghost in Tacitus.

The governor signs his own name. And the Gospel trial? Matthew 27 says, “They delivered Him to Pontius Pilate.” History just caught up. Egypt. Embalmers stuffed mummies with scraps of papyrus. Modern x-rays reveal census edicts dated 11 to 8 BC. The name? Quirinius, Legate. Luke 2 records, “In those days a decree went out that all the world should be registered.” Critics claimed the timing was off. Now the dates fall in line.

Score one for the careful physician. Northern Israel, 1993...
